Because of this, I couldn't see a relationship forming between the two. This one focuses more on conversations and less on descriptions, actions and what the characters are thinking and feeling. I know that this is pretty much just personal preferences, but I can't stand books that are so laden down with dialogue. It just seemed that he wanted to let her know about the spear and discuss a way to get it back to her. Because we don't see much thoughts and feelings on his part, it's hard to tell. Another thing, I have no idea why he was going after Cybelline, in the first place. I didn't care for that either, it would've been nice to see a part of his journey to get there or him preparing for the trip, at least. We don't really know how he got there, but bam, he's there. Then, the next thing we know, he's already in the vicinity of where the heroine's at. The information about the spear was pretty much mentioned in passing. He found out, basically, all he needed to know to find her, in one tedious conversation with someone else. By the time they get around to doing it, I was already bored with their tedious conversation and just wanted them to get it over with.Īfterwards, I thought we'd see the hero pulling out all the stops to find his lady, but that didn't even happen. Prior to the actual tryst, the hero and heroine meet up and talk-and talk-and talk for pages upon pages. I don't know if the tryst was hot or not. What I got, however, was nowhere near what I expected. I expected those two things from the book to be the highlights of the whole book, at least for me. I was excited to see that the hero was going to search for the mysterious lady after the ball was over.

I was looking forward to reading a juicy tryst between our heroine and our hero. I bought this book because the plot line intrigued me.
